Hypnotherapy Sessions in New York and Online

The bridge between science & something deeper.

Some people know exactly when it started. Others have no idea why it's happening now. Either way, understanding it hasn't stopped it. That's the part I can help with.

Hypnosomatics® for patterns that have not moved with talking alone. Online worldwide, in person in New York and Miami.

How change happens

Almost everything you do in a day, you learned. Your body learned to brace before a meeting. Your mind learned to look for the next problem before you're properly awake. A cigarette learned to mean relief.

None of it was chosen, and none of it responds to being told to stop.

In hypnosis, you enter a deeply focused state where you can rehearse a different response. Through visualization, you give the brain an experience of how you want to think, feel and respond, not just how you have responded in the past. Because the brain can activate many of the same networks during vivid imagination as it does during real experience, this mental rehearsal can help strengthen new neural pathways. That is neuroplasticity: the brain’s ability to change through experience and repetition.

We work with the body in the same session too, because the pattern isn't only happening in your thoughts. It's in the breath, the held tension, the shoulders that rise before you've even noticed you're anxious.

Learned patterns can change. The brain can learn something new. That's the basis of this work.

The way I work

I trained in bodies before I trained in minds. Professional sports, exercise science, then clinical hypnosis and somatic work.

So when you tell me you understand your anxiety and it’s still happening, I’m not only listening to the story. I’m also noticing what your breathing does while you tell it.

HypnoSomatics® brings both sides of the work into one session. Hypnosis works with the learned response, the bracing before a meeting, the 3 a.m. waking, the automatic reach for the cigarette. Somatic work helps you work with how that response shows up in the body, so change isn't only something you understand intellectually.

I work alongside physicians who recognize the important relationship between the mind, the nervous system, and the body. They refer patients to me when this work can complement their medical care.

Wherever you are in the process, we can start there.

How we work together

Change rarely happens all at once, and it doesn't need to. What you're carrying has been practiced for a long time, and it has layers: what you think, what you feel, how your body answers, and what you do without deciding to.

Your nervous system has its own pace too. It doesn't release a protective response because someone asks it to. It releases when it feels safe enough, and that safety takes a little time to build.

This is why I work with a protocol built around you, rather than one session at a time. For the things people come to me with most often, the protocols are already built: sleep, anxiety, pain, and smoking. Everything else gets one designed around what you bring.

The four sessions give us enough continuity to move through the layers of a response, working with what's ready to shift, noticing what changes, then going deeper as the next layer becomes accessible.

Where most people begin. Sleep. Pain. Patterns that have been running for years. Four sessions is where real change actually happens. Enough continuity for the nervous system to learn something new, not just hear about it. For most people, that's all it takes. At session four, we look at what's changed and decide together: done, or one more round to finish the job.

Some things are contained enough for one session. Sometimes you just want to feel what this is like first. Both are good reasons to start here. If you continue with a protocol within two weeks, that session counts toward it.

Or if you're not sure this is the right fit for what you're carrying, send me a note first and tell me what's happening. I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.
